Ahh coffee, the reason for getting out of bed each and every morning. As one of the world's most popular drinks, it's become a necessary part of many people's days. Whether you're starting the day off with a brew or you're catching up with friends, coffee is suitable for every occasion. We love coffee so much that we decided to  scour the Internet to find five facts about everyone's favourite pick-me-up! 

Did you know that coffee beans are actually the pits found in berries?  Coffee berries, often called coffee cherries are an edible fruit.  The pits or beans are used to make coffee. It is easy to understand why the coffee bean shares so many properties of the Brazilian acai berry.  When you drink your next morning cup of coffee, consider the fruit where it came from.

Drinking a cup of caffeinated coffee significantly improves blood flow.  Caffeine starts working quickly and you can feel the effects within 10 minutes of drinking one cup.  People who drink four cups of coffee a day are 80% less likely to develop cirrhosis, a condition that develops from several diseases affecting the liver.

The world consumes close to 2.25 billion cups of coffee every day.  It’s safe to say that anytime in the world is coffee time. The most effective time to consume coffee for the full benefit is between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m….the perfect time for a coffee break.

Coffee can be beneficial in your garden.  Coffee grounds sprinkled on the ground around plants will stop snails and slugs from eating the plants...a great reason to recycle your grounds and create a pesticide free environment.

Caffeine is actually made up of crystals.  The buzz you feel after drinking coffee actually comes from ingesting tiny 0.0016 inch crystals.  If you drink coffee before you work out, your adrenaline levels rise and fatty acids are released from fat tissues. This leads to a better physical performance.  So go ahead, grab a cup and enjoy!
